Experienced software developer sought to live in Nairobi, Kenya to
- provide technical management to junior Kenyan developers, and - help shape a new strategy to enhance capacity for open source software development in low-income countries. We are promoting "Coded in Country" (CIC) as a "FairTrade" label for software projects. Software is certified as "Coded in Country" if at least 50% of the software development budget was spent on local developers. This concept has been met with great enthusiasm by many organizations developing health applications for low-income countries. The experienced developer will supervise and mentor three junior programmers at a CIC node operated by DataDyne.org and specializing in mobile applications including EpiSurveyor and JavaROSA. The technical manager will attend at least one relevant international conference per year, as will the programmers. The position covers travel expenses, living costs, and a small stipend. 12 month commitment required. If interested, please send a CV and brief statement of interest to Joel Selanikio (jselanikio at datadyne.org). -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
