Best, Karen Cheng -------------------------------------------------------- From: Anne Burdick <[email protected]> Greetings Friends and Alumni of the MDP-- I am happy to announce that we are searching for a unique faculty position for a new track?called "Media Design Matters"?that is a collaboration between the?MDP?and Art Center's renowned?Designmatters Initiative. We are looking for a full-time faculty member with a background in Sociology, Anthropology, Social Practices, Media Studies, or Science and Technology Studies to begin Summer 2011.?The candidate will work with other faculty from design backgrounds to develop a new curriculum that brings together media design, social research, public policy, and information technologies to address social issues in an applied context. The MDM curriculum will be built around an 8-month team-based project conducted in the field in partnership with an NGO, development agency, national non-profit or local community. It combines the best of the MDP's Superstudio curriculum (2001-09) with Designmatters' successful social impact projects. Our first project partner for 2012 will be the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.
