Subject: Husk power brings electricity to the dark villages of Bihar, India
To: TIER <tier at tier.cs.berkeley.edu>

Hi TIER folks

Serendipitously came across this really neat article from nytimes, on an
innovative company, using "frugal innovation" to bring electricity to the
dark villages of Bihar, India

http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/10/a-light-in-india/

IMHO, this could have huge potential for (partial ?) electrification of
villages in Africa too.

Very inspiring

Best,
ashish
