if you'd like to offer pre-submission feedback and mentorship for ictd2012 papers, please sign up!
---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Thomas Smyth <[email protected]> Date: Tue, Apr 19, 2011 at 08:36 Subject: ICTD2010 Peer Mentorship Program, Request for Participation Dear Colleagues, By now you may have seen our call for participation in a special new pre-submission peer mentorship program for ICTD2012. It is available here: http://ictd2012.org/mentorship. In a nutshell, it allows less experienced researchers and other interested parties to submit early drafts of their conference paper submissions by May 1, after which they will be paired with at least one peer mentor with an appropriate level of experience. We are writing to request your participation as a mentor in this program. Mentors will review submissions and provide detailed, constructive feedback via a dialogical process quite different from a typical review system. The goal is to assist peers in fashioning important and interesting work into a format suitable for submission to the main paper track by the July 22 deadline. This program was conceived based on experiences from previous conferences in which good, promising work had to be rejected due to its lack of readiness for publication in a formal research setting. For now, all you have to do is express interest. Shortly after the May 1st deadline, we will inform you of your partner and provide you with the submission and a detailed reviewing rubric as a guide for your considerations. From that point it will be the responsibility of you and your assignee to coordinate the process. An ideal relationship would likely include several iterations back and forth as more refinements are made and advice is given. We will check in once or twice during the process to see how things are progressing, and to offer any assistance. So, can we count on you to help broaden the horizons of the ICTD conference? If yes, simply visit http://goo.gl/3U56A to register. Or feel free to send us any questions. We certainly look forward to working with you in this exciting endeavour. Sincerely, The Peer Mentorship Host Committee Deana Brown Deji Fajebe Sunil Garg Thomas Smyth
