Lemelson Foundation Program Officer Role: ?We are actively recruiting for a PO?that will develop, monitor and manage a portfolio of investments (grants, contracts) and other activities in direct support of the Foundation's strategy. ?As you may know, the Foundation is committed to inspiring and recognizing inventors and improving lives through invention, both in the US and in developing countries.? To this end we seek to expand the pipeline of inventors, inventions and invention-based enterprises that can result in economic and social impact in the US and improve the lives of the poorest populations in developing countries.?? The PO will be a key contributor in helping to shape our strategy and contributing to the identification, shaping, and management of partnerships with grantees and others in support of our mission. Specifically the PO will be a lead contributor in our work inspiring and educating new inventors and entrepreneurs in the US and developing countries, as well as in managing our existing technology dissemination portfolio in the developing countries.? The PO will also contribute to the broader portfolio providing technical expertise and, based on experience, advice on advocacy and policy issues. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree and experience in one or more of the following: engineering, technology, science. ?Expertise in STEM education will also be considered. ?Experience with invention and/or entrepreneurship is preferred as well as experience in program management for government, non-profit, or for-profit funders. Knowledge of the invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship process is desired as well as knowledge of, or interest in, priority global development issues. ?Experience working in a developing country or managing programs based in developing countries is a plus. ?The culture of the Foundation is positive, collaborative and team focused.
