The successful candidate will work as part of a technical team and will design, develop, test, and deploy moderate to complex solutions designed to improve education, health, and governance in developing countries. This development may involve the use of commercial software and RTI-developed software tools. Candidates with a broad skill set will need to adapt to the computing resource needs of a diverse project base. Candidate will work with country counterparts in developing innovative and sustained solutions to information system challenges. This position requires the ability to work well in a team environment and excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities ? Contribute to the design and development of web applications using popular, free and open source content management and web application systems ? Contribute to the design and development of mobile applications for international development ? Design and develop custom software applications and integrate third party applications from specifications ? Work with colleagues to develop software architecture, coding, and testing standards ? Create written documentation for the functionality of software components ? Contribute to database design, including writing database queries and stored procedures ? Travel to Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and/or Latin America up to 50% calendar time as needed for project assignments
