GSMA mWomen also has some great research reports at http://www.mwomen.org/Research.
Their most recent is "Striving & Surviving - Exploring the Lives of Women at the Base of the Pyramid." You can find it at http://www.mwomen.org/Research/striving-surviving-exploring-the-lives-of-women-at-the-base-of-the-pyramid The report surveys the wants, needs, aspirations and mobile uses of women living at the base of the pyramid (BoP), which are those living on under US$2 a day. The research format brings the voices of BoP women to life through eight fictional, composite ‘portraits’ of respondents, interspersed throughout a detailed review of the macro-level data from which the portraits were constructed. If you are interested in doing this kind of research, GSMA mWomen just released a Request for Proposal to bid for "Research on Opportunities and Challenges of Mobile Financial Services for Underserved Women." You can email Megan O'Donnell at [email protected] for a copy of the RFP. Note that you have to submit your intention to bid before 21 May 2012 5pm US Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The full proposal submission is due to be submitted before 20 June 2012 5pm EDT. _______________________________________________ change mailing list [email protected] http://changemm.cs.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/change
