It is a century characterized by networks, digital content, cyber space and "internationalized spaces". The information and library world has lived out these connections in several arenas. This presentation engages international librarianship as an energizing concept in a networked world. It highlights opportunities for joint engagement of equal partners and challenges of this dynamic relationship for libraries and library development. It will draw on some of current research, that speaks to the extent of "internationalized spaces" in librarianship. About Dr. Mbambo-Thata Dr. Buhle Mbambo-Thata is a visiting scholar at TASCHA this summer. Currently Dr. Mbambo-Thata is the Executive Director, Library Services, University of South Africa. Prior to that, she was University Librarian, University of Zimbabwe. She is a sought-out speaker at conferences in innovative usage of ICT in libraries and in higher education. Her research interests are in information literacy, and women and ICT. She holds a PhD in Information Science. .
