Subject: Random Hacks of Kindness Seattle - this weekend
To: Nicola Dell <[email protected]>

Hi Nicki,

Could you let Change know about this? Would be great to see some UW
participants. I'm helping organize it, so if anyone has questions, feel
free to contact me ([email protected]).

*Random Hacks of Kindness Seattle is here!*

Next weekend, December 1-2, please join Random Hacks of Kindness Seattle
for an exciting two days of developing practical open technology to make
the world a better place. RHoK Global is a biannual code jam, with events
taking place simultaneously in dozens of sites all over the world. At each
event, developers, designers, and subject-matter experts come together to
develop practical technology solutions focused on humanitarian and social
development challenges.

On Saturday morning, participants will form teams and select problems to
work on. The rest of Saturday and most of Sunday will be devoted to
designing and coding, before each team presents its solution on Sunday
evening.

To participate, sign up ASAP for free on the RHoK
Seattle<http://www.rhok.org/event/seattle-wa-usa-0>page (
http://www.rhok.org/event/seattle-wa-usa-0). RHoK Seattle will take place
at Jigsaw Renaissance in the International District. We'll provide the
basics (wifi, power strips, projector), but please plan to bring any other
equipment and supplies you'll need, such as laptops, peripherals, paper and
sketching tools, and snacks. Meals are on your own.

RHoK Seattle was pulled together on a short timeline, so our humble event
won't have the swag, catered food, and corporate sponsors you might hear
about in other locations. But we figured a small RHoK Seattle is better
than no RHoK Seattle at all. So come join us to meet new people and
collaborate on important projects for the greater good!

For more information, visit our RHoK Seattle local
site<http://www.rhok.org/event/seattle-wa-usa-0>and the RHoK
Global <http://www.rhok.org/>site. We'll be adding more event details to
the Seattle site as this week continues, so keep it bookmarked.
