Subject: One week left to apply - "Malawi Off-Grid Energy Business
Concepts Competition"

Dear fellow group members,

Please find below a reminder for the "Malawi Off-Grid Energy Business
Concepts Competition". Closing date is July 15th, 2013 (more details
below).

"The US African Development Foundation (USADF) is pleased to cooperate
with the World Bank Institute to announce this Call for Proposals for the
"Malawi Off-Grid Energy Business Concepts" Competition. USADF proposes to
provide business planning grants for the Malawi Kwacha (MK) equivalent of
$10,000 USD each for up to 5 promising ventures to enable the development
of new private sector-led business models for off-grid rural
electrification in Malawi. Grant funds would be used to cover costs
associated with business plan development, including contracting with
consultants and/or executing market studies, technical reviews, developing
blueprints and construction plans, and other related business plan
expenses.

This competition will only consider proposals from African-owned and led
private, non-governmental companies, associations or organizations in good
standing with their local government and other international standards.
Priority will be given to business concepts that benefit rural,
marginalized populations.

All applicants are required to use the business proposal template found on
the USADF website. The proposal along with required documentation should
be submitted by email only, on or before July 15, 2013 to
[email protected] . Proposals received after the closing
date of July 15, 2013 will not be accepted under any circumstances. After
the proposals have been evaluated, the winners will be declared on July
26, 2013. For more information and the proposal template please visit
www.usadf.gov. or http://www.usadf.gov/MWIOFFGRID.html";

Best regards.
