Hi All, Each year we have a few summer internship positions that may be available at our Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) (http://nyuad.nyu.edu/cted/) at NYU. CTED is based out of NYU Abu Dhabi and we work actively in multiple countries including UAE, Ghana, Ethiopia, India and Pakistan. If you would like to work on an exciting ICTD project with us over summer, this could be an interesting opportunity. Attached is a brief job description. Cheers, Jay Chen CTED Summer 2014 Internship Job Description: The Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) is looking for graduate student interns for the summer of 2013. We are specifically looking for students with a mix of good programming skills and strong interest in field work. The range of possible project areas are broad and include: - Mobile applications and networked systems - ICTD systems for specific application areas including agriculture, health, and education - Large-scale data analysis, mining, and interactive visualization Requirements: - B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Economics, or closely related field - Facility in C/C++, Python, Java and/or analysis tools like Matlab Depending on your summer schedule, the internship will run from 12-14 weeks. The Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED) is a multidisciplinary research center at NYU Abu Dhabi (UAE). Our mission is to develop tools that significantly impact economic development in emerging regions. Among other things, our goal is to bring services to rural communities including: access to health services, market information, and to improve education in rural areas.
