Subject: USAID is looking for some amazing people to join our team

The Digital Development Team is hiring five (5) new positions within
the U.S. Global Development Lab to focus on how real time data (RTD)
systems can be implemented and scaled to create evidence-based,
adaptive and agile decision making and transform the way development
is currently practiced. RTD systems – delivered through mobile phones,
sensors, cloud computing and other digital platforms – enable
governments, donors, and NGOs to capture performance metrics and
engage in a continuous dialogue with citizens. The RTD strategy has
been slated as an imperative by USAID and will be supported for scale
across the Agency. The candidate will work with a small team of
complex systems thinkers, technologists, network and data experts to
shape and implement this vision. The Digital Development team is
looking for dynamic individuals that can work and learn in a fast-pace
and start-up like team environment to help catapult RTD systems to the
forefront of the Agency and the U.S. development enterprise. The RTD
strategy is an all-Agency strategy that encompasses rethinking program
design and management, procurement operations, impact evaluations and
evidence-based decision making, stakeholder collaboration between
governments, practitioners and communities and more. Field experience,
familiarity with information and communication technologies (ICTs),
and an open mind with a sense of humor are all desired.

This position is located in the U. S. Global Development Lab (Lab), an
organization established within USAID to harness the power of science,
technology, innovation and partnership (STIP) and take promising
innovations to global scale in order to significantly accelerate the
achievement of foreign policy and development goals. The Lab will
achieve this vision through a two-part mission: 1) produce
breakthrough development innovations; and 2) accelerate the
transformation of the U.S. development enterprise. The Lab will work
both on developing and implementing new STIP programming as well as
supporting and advisory role to programming across the Bureaus and
Missions.
