*Subject:* Request to forward DSSG Fellowship information to students

I'm writing from the Data Science for Social Good fellowship at the University of Chicago. I was wondering if you could forward the following information about our program to your computer science graduate students? Many thanks in advance.

*Apply for the Data Science for Social Good Summer Fellowship!*

Looking to use or develop your data science skills to solve socially impactful problems? Does the idea of helping non-profits, governments, or foundations better understand and leverage their data appeal to you? What about developing predictive algorithms to help high schools improve graduation rates, text-mining congressional spending bills to uncover costly earmarks, or helping governments develop new strategies to reduce maternal mortality?

If so, then consider applying for the Data Science for Social Good (DSSG) Summer Fellowship <http://dssg.uchicago.edu/?utm_source=ne_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=dept_outreach_compsci>, a 3 month paid program for quantitatively minded folks looking to take on high-impact, real-world, problems. Run by the University of Chicago and funded by the Eric & Wendy Schmidt Foundation, DSSG pairs teams of social scientists, computer scientists, and statisticians with non-profit, government, or philanthropic partners to work on an impactful project from June to August. Projects span a variety of sectors, including education, health, international development, and sustainability. Throughout the summer, fellows apply their coding and analytics skills, collaborate in a fast-paced environment, and learn from mentors coming from industry and academia.

Applications for the fellowship are due Feb 1. Find more about the program (including the application and FAQs) here: http://dssg.uchicago.edu/ <http://dssg.uchicago.edu/?utm_source=ne_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=dept_outreach_compsci>.
