Hi Everyone!
Just a reminder that today at noon we will be hearing from Jake Okechukwu Effoduh <https://www.osgoode.yorku.ca/programs/graduate-program/students/okechukwu-effoduh/> from Osgoode Hall Law School. Jake's talk is titled "An African Perspective to Regulating Self-Driving Cars." Check out our website: www.change.washington.edu! *Description* Self-driving cars as a mode of transportation in Africa is probably more of a ‘when’ than an ‘if’ question. These autonomous vehicles that could benefit human safety by reducing human deaths from car crashes, may disadvantage Africans if the production of the technology does not adequately reflect African perspectives, including in the ethical constructions about rulemaking. *Resources for Attendees* - https://twailr.com/twail-review/issue-03-2022/jake -okechukwu-effoduh-regulating-self-driving-cars-an-african-perspective/ *Seminar Details* *Location*: Tuesdays from 12-1pm in 271 CSE2 (The Bill and Melinda Gates Center) *Zoom:* https://washington.zoom.us/j/93100061611 <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/washington.zoom.us/j/93100061611__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!jLJRdcRiY3moGftAfI2tKd830IN_o6aaIpd50l7QTSaufUz7DDxsbdqGg6ZBKiJ6DZsrD6cWm0NJtD4y81ZEmg$> *Presenter Bio* Jake Okechukwu Effoduh (He/Him/They) is a Vanier Scholar at the Osgoode Hall Law School, conducting doctorate research on the Legitimization of Artificial Intelligence in Africa.
