BTW: I'm trying to do a fund raiser for the "columbusfreenet" on July 15 (its a saturday, i think).
Anywho... I will probably need people to staff the event. I have about 4 local bands on the hook and between 6 and 8 dnb DJ's that want to do the show. Rhino's has been gracious enough to let us take over their whole bar for that night and charge admission (donations at the door) and sell t-shirts. That is the main thing I will need. A Columbusfreenet.org presence to take moneys and wear our wares. They have also requested a "flashy attention getter" at the door or in the window or outside, etc.... Something computer related would be cool, but I would like ideas. :) If nothing else, it should be a good oportunity for various freenet peoples to get together. I will be making special "pink panty pull downs" for the event that the bar will be selling for us, and they are going to donate a bartender for a VIP area. I have spent quite a few nights firming our relations with the staff and management at Rhino's (going out and getting faced) to make this hapen, but any input from anyone else would be appreciated. Outside of a house party, this is the first event I have tried to coordinate so if anyone has any lessons learned or tips from similar situations let me know.
