Looking for data-center techs and Linux uber-sysadmins, mostly. You'll
see a few other things listed there as well. (And if you know any
stellar project managers, we need to talk.)

A few additional points:

1. A data-center tech at Google is a really, *really* fun job; you're
not just mindlessly swapping hardware. You get a lot of leverage to
learn some truly amazing things...right away. This is the ultimate in
entry-level IT positions. Linux mastery is not required (but some
basic familiarity is).

2. The Linux sysadmin job is for someone really senior. (I mean
"senior" as in experience, not age. Well obviously it's okay if you're
old. Just as long as you're also experienced. You get the idea.)

3. I don't know what the salary is for any of these positions, so
don't ask me. (And it doesn't matter, anyway. I think I'd personally
work here for free if I had to.)

4. Some of these jobs are contractor (temp) positions, with an option
to go full time. Some people feel hesitant to leave a full-time job to
go take a gamble on a contract. They have no clue on what they're
missing out on. This is worth the gamble. Seriously. Working here for
any length of time will pay off in the long run. In any case, you
should at least interview and then make up your mind.

I'm not fishing for referral bonuses with this post (not entirely,
anyway.) I wouldn't refer just anybody--after all, I'll be stuck
working with you every day. More to the point, people subscribed to
this list are probably great interview candidates, in my opinion. And
we need those.
