Yes, in fact I just spoke w/ HUG Inc the other day about the kiosk - it does still seem feasible, and I do need to contact Tom about it soon. Anyone interested hacking a COTS wifi kiosk for little or no reward? It's a h/w + s/w effort, and I don't know if I'm going to be able to show up for the fun, but it is alleged to contain both a (cheapo) Pentium (one of the ones w/ little or no cache - I forget the marketting name) and a wifi AP packed into a hardened (stainless) pedastal with a credit-card reader and bill/coin acceptor. The s/w is proprietary, tied to an MLM-scheme backend - it will have to be wiped.
