We have found race conditions in our nightly gasnet udp conduit
testing with both gasnet segment fast and everything.  I thought that
the main difference between the two was that fast uses posix shared
memory on-node, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

FWIW, I believe that we are trying to get testing up and running on an
actual distributed memory system soon.
