Hi Sagar,

Thanks for your interest in Chapel. In general, the resources on the
http://chapel.cray.com/gsoc/ page should point you in the right direction for
getting started. As Michael has noted, Chapel already has an RNG and Strings
module. If you have specific questions regarding the distributed data
structures project, you can inquire Engin (cc'd) who is the mentor for that
project.

Best,
Ben

    Hello,

I am an Undergraduate Computer Science student from India and I would like
to contribute to Chapel as my GSoC project. I build the code and get
familiarize myself with the Chapel, I went through the project list and I would
like to build a library of Distributed
Data Structure. I would also want to build a module for Random Number
Generation in Chapel, and a module on String Manipulation such as whether a
string is a substring of another string or not, string anagram, all the
possible subsets of a given set and the
list goes on as much as possible. Please suggest me what should I do next
before submitting my proposal.

    Thank you,

    Sagar
