The docs link you posted is not intended to be the comprehensive documentation 
of arrays and domains. The language specification is a good resource for 
documentation of language features, such as arrays and domains. I recommend 
checking out the associative domains [1] section for more formal documentation 
on associative domains and arrays. The primers are often good enough to learn 
the basics, however.
