This would imply that either after login on to the remote machine there is no cd to the same working directory as the launch is from or that the user login PATH is not being used for lookup (i.e. that . is not on the PATH. This behaviour has somewhat surprised me. I guess I have just missed something in the documentation…
Based on $CHPL_HOME/third-party/gasnet/gasnet-src/udp-conduit/README, there is a cd to the working directory on the remote side, so likely the problem is that the lack of "." in the PATH there. You could confirm this (for both of us) by doing (bash syntax): ssh $(echo $GASNET_SSH_SERVERS | cut -d' ' -f1) echo '$PATH' The process on the remote side of such an ssh command doesn't typically end up with the same environment as either that on the initiating side or what would result from ssh'ing without a command, in my experience. So even if you have "." in your PATH on the initiating side that won't help. In any case, if you given an explicit path when you run the Chapel launcher then our launcher will prefix the _real with the same path on the target side, so this should work: ./pi_parallel_reduce_notBatched ... greg
