Thanks for your reply. Actually, I'm not too familiar with this feature in
Fortran myself (I'm not a Fortran programmer either). I was looking into
the feasibility of translating a hydrology model written in Fortran, into
Chapel (also, I'm an absolute beginner Chapel programmer).
I don't have any say in or input into the upstream code, so for the short
term at least, I was hoping to avoid translating the namelist files into
something more modern.
Today it seems like I might be able to get something going with a Chapel
class.
