Marcos, I had meant to reply much earlier... but I think your idea is a good one. It would (1) standardize integration into freely-available IDEs and (2) provide deeper support for code introspection, enabling e.g. auto code completion, error-fix suggestions, refactoring.
What would be needed to develop a language server protocol for Chapel? The yacc and lex grammar files?
