I think you'll find Ligotti is pretty much revered among horror lit 
fans.  I've read "Dead Dreamer" and parts of "Noctuary" and like them 
very much.  Ligotti's great on atmosphere and has a real gift for 
conjuring up the feel of Lovecraft without actually name-dropping 
Lovecraft's usual suspects.
