Believe in Our Schools (BOS)
Below are listed opportunities to assist with work in schools on
Saturday, August 13th, and Saturday, August 20th (and some weekdays).
For individuals and community associations who would like to volunteer,
please contact the school to sign up.
Schools throughout the city will hold volunteer workdays each Saturday
from about 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in which facilities will be painted and
cleaned. School leaders will act as supervisors on these
community-based workdays. Although volunteers are coming from the
school community, both initiatives are in need of additional help if
they are to reach the ambitious goals they have set.
In addition, the Mayor's Office and the Baltimore City Public School
System are working together to plan extensive work at several schools
throughout the summer. AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteers and BCPSS Certified
Career and Technology instructors will lead these projects full-time
(9am-4pm, Monday-Friday), spanning several weeks. Volunteers who are
available during the week should contact the Believe in Our Schools
