According to the Sun, the victim had died. That means that we have just
had two murders in Charles Village approximately a day apart (the other
was Thursday evening in the 2300 block of Charles), and both involve
shooting at the head of the victim. Whether they are related and
whether, as now appears based on minimal evidence, they are both drug
related and are not random remains to be determined by homicide
detectives, but clearly we have a bad situation in our neighborhood.
Let us just hope that the police get lucky. Sometimes, just flooding an
area with police will have an officer in the right place at the right
time to solve a serious crime. An officer in the right place at the
right time led to the solving of the Stephen Pitcairn murder within
about 12 hours of the murder. We need some similar luck now.
