Dawna!

I'll repeat what's already been said. Call the City (and follow Sharon's
advice on that), but do not pick up the mattress and do not encourage a
friend with a pickup truck to do it.

The City has the proper bed-bug-proof equipment and clothing to deal with
it. We don't. When the bug problem first started, and nobody knew, several
employees the CVCBD pick up the bugs in the line of duty, which then
infested their houses and made their lives miserable.

'nuff said,

Dawna:

Of course, your idea for self-help is easiest and simplest. I wish I had a
pickup truck to help you out, but I do not. Good luck and I hope you find
one.

All:

The City has been pretty responsive whenever I call 311 for illegal trash or
dumping pickup. I always get the complaint number and, if the problem is
not resolved timely, I call and send an email to Matt Bradby, at CVCBD
Sanitation at 410-467-4409 and [email protected] , with the complaint
number, description of the problem, the exact location of the problem with
nearest address, and the date I made the 311 call. Although CVCBD no longer
picks up mattresses because of the bed bug problem, Matt will follow up the
complaint number with DPW on any chronic problem until it is resolved. The
sooner you call 311 and let Matt know about a chronic problem, the sooner it
will be handled by the City or CVCBD.

Dawna,

Call 311. With a mattress, there is a significant risk that there are
bedbugs. For a while, the City was not picking up mattresses, but I recall
reading that they now will do so. Let them deal with it. They are trained
to deal with possibly infested upholstery.

CVCBD also stopped picking up mattresses.

Hi all: does anyone have a pick up or large SUV who can take a double bed
mattress to Sisson Street? It has been lying on the sidewalk on 29th Street
between Saint Paul and Lovegrove alley for quite some time. My car isnt big
enough. I am able to help move it if someone has the right size vehicle.
Thanks! Dawna
