Hi Brian, we need different styles of videos to appeal to different people.
My style was based on leaving the viewer wanting more -- being impressed by
how quickly something can come together. It was more of a pitch than a
training video. Truthfully, I don't think many people would learn from it
other than learn about what's possible (not how to do it). The style was
based on probably hundreds of other screencasts I've seen, years of
experience doing software demos and several hours of preparation and a few
re-recordings. Basically, I'd stop and start over if I wasn't happy in the
first minute. I did three segments and then combined them together. That
way I was only committing myself to 3-4 minutes of constant flow. Sure, I
had a few spots where I wasn't happy after 2 minutes into it but I kept
rolling based on my experience demoing software.

All this is meant to reiterate that it's not easy to pull off and takes
practice.

We are our own harshest critic. I think your video is quite good. I learned
by watching it and your voice (volume, tone, energy) and pace was good.
I've taken online courses (coursera, etc) where I've had to watch the
videos in 2x speed. Yours could probably be sped up a bit, but that will
get better with practice.

Typing and talking is a challenge for me still. I mask it by typing fast
possibly. I noticed you recalled commands in the console. Instead of typing
them out, pull them from the command history... That's a good trick to get
values input without having to actually type them.

Anyhow, keep it up! The more videos the better.
