jqt runs fine for me, at least so far.

Some quick research indicates that a major
performance issue with windows 8.1 has to do with
thermal throttling. There's something wrong in
the mechanisms being used there. That suggests
that performance may have something to do with
temperature (maye even the weather) and/or the
recent load on the system.
Meanwhile, OpenBSD performs wonderfully, but J
crashes on it because of unresolved defects. I
want to get those defects resolved. J's relative
lack of build dependencies suggest that it could
be incredibly useful in free software projects if
only we could address its existing flaws (things
that make it crash on OpenBSD).
Put differently: the way J is put together, where
you can build the engine and run iand incorporate
jqt as a later step, is a really great thing, if
we can have the self discipline to keep maintain
that separation (and maintain its simplified set
of bulid tools). It's a work of art.
