In my mail reader (which is likely not unicode-aware), the mutiliation isn't very interesting. The quoted strings are mostly question marks (?), and the output is mostly capital Is with a variety of accents (acute, grave), with a few other weird symbols mixed in (guillemets, tildes, copyright symbols, trademark sign, British pound sign). It seems like your quoted strings came through ok (spelling "unicode" with some funky diacritics and composed characters), but the output string looks the same as it does in my mail reader: a bunch of accented capital Is, etc. Screenshot of in-browser rendering: http://imgur.com/DS2cInt -Dan [1] http://www.jsoftware.com/pipermail/chat/2014-September/006273.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
