If you're in the NYC area, you may want to consider attending the NYC J Users Group - NYCJUG - where we often discuss topics like this: how language and notation influence thinking. I have been bad about updating the NYCJUG pages on the J-wiki for the past couple of years but there is probably some relevant material there for those interested in this topic.
