Hello J, The COVID-19 situation has shaken up all of our lives to various degrees. In light of that, I hope the moderators look kindly upon this mild bit of forum abuse.
Are you hiring remote engineers with a strong background in IT and math? I would love to chat! My long-form CV can be found here: https://wilsonb.com/cv.pdf. The short and sweet is that I have a background that interleaves both academia and industry IT work. Between personal tinkering and professional work, I have over 20 years mucking about in Linux infrastructure. Academically, I have a Master's in applied mathematics. My strongest suit is diving deep into complex systems, grokking them deeply, and then communicating the insights gained with others, fellow engineer or otherwise. This thirst to know led me to hack around all up and down the stack: hand-written ELF files, Linux kernel performance tuning, reproducible builds with Guix, etc.---see the Projects section in my CV for a more complete representation of my interests and experience. Currently located in northern Japan, I am looking for a fully remote position. If you need someone who quickly hacks together prototypes, then I am probably not your guy. However, if you want a careful architect, you will be playing to my strong suits. Going by what previous employers say, you can count on my raw intellect and ability to ask insightful questions to make sure the job is done right. Just in case it is not obvious, I would be tickled pink to work somewhere that required me to keep my heard full of J (or APL) all day. Thank you for your time, and stay safe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
