For those who don't find J in itself enough of a challenge, here's a link to what are said to be very difficult problems put up today by the UK's "Government Communication HQ" in honour of our new £50 note which commemorates the great mathematician and pioneer of computing, Alan Turing, on his birthday, I believe:
https://www.gchq.gov.uk/information/turing-challenge An article in today's London Times reports that five or so Times staff managed to solve the challenge. Not just any old staff, though, but the brainy types compiling and/or editing the Times Crossword, the Listener Crossword and so on. I gather a lot of lateral thinking is called for. GCHQ are said to use this sort of thing to help them recruit the brightest talent for decoding, decrypting and all that stuff. Good Luck if you try, Cheers, Mike -- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
