I think Python's flaunt was a negative reaction to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There%27s_more_than_one_way_to_do_it (I often suspect that Newton's laws (like: for every action there's an equal but opposite reaction) were originally formulated as observations on how peer pressure and mistakes play out, which also happened to also be useful in other contexts.)
