I stumbled across a post in a Sourceforge discussion forum that indicates
China may already be blocking all access to the Freenet sites.

It appears that the Chinese Government is blocking all URLs containing the
string 'freenet'.
Pretty heavy-handed, but what does one expect from a government that commits
genocide in Tibet and elsewhere.

Ths message can be seen at:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=105951&forum_id=2
where the user says:
------------
      Sorry to everyone.
But if anyone can help us, we will be very
      grateful to you.
I'm from china. Now I can't get any thing about FreeNet,
no matter from development sites sourceforge or any
      search engine ,for example yahoo.
I wish someone can tell freenet teams, we indeed need them,
and can they put freenet things under another Domain name or directory
name,for example "sourceforge.net/free-net",or
"net-free.sourceforge.net"?Certainly , the best way is to put freenet
on freenet.
      Thanks very very much.
