I'm pleased to announce a new release of FreeWeb 0.1.2.1 alpha.

With this version:

1) removed major bugs which were corrupting site keys, and causing
intermittent insert failures
2) added 'auto-regression', so when hitting a date-redirect which 404's, the
proxy automatically tries yesterday's version, then the day before, up to
limit specified by user. This mechanism works for all freesites, not just
ones created with FreeWeb
3) Insert and Request HTL values can be changed, and take effect, in
real-time
4) Adjustable number of insert threads, which takes effect in real-time
5) Numerous user interface refinements

For the benefit of newer people, FreeWeb:
* is a Freenet client program - a user-friendly Windows GUI application
which creates and intelligently maintains standard secure Freenet freesites.
* also features a lightweight http proxy server which offers considerable
advantages over FProxy.
* also, controversially, it intercepts any browser's requests on the domain
.free, translating URLs like www.somesite.free to
freenet:MSK@KSK@freeweb/somesite.free// This creates the appealing illusion
of surfing Freenet sites as if they are actual websites.

All information and downloads available from the Freeweb website:
http://freeweb.sourceforge.net

Enjoy :)

David
