I've given a lot of thought to replying to this. I stopped myself
several times. I wasn't sure my opinion would really matter but then I
thought, "What the hell." Even though it may appear to be banging on
someone who has already done such an admirable job to himself (kind of
like shooting fish in a barrel), that isn't my intent.

I offer this as an illumination, Josh, if you'll take it that way.

I'd like to address one declaration you made, taken in context with your
other statements. It is the following:

> You don't understand management, I do. I've been dealing with managers for
> over a dozen years.

I was in management by the fifth year of my career (to some it comes
earlier, some later [and, I guess, none at all]). I "dealt" with many
who expressed themselves as you for the next twenty years. I'll tell you
now that viewing management from the underside doesn't offer much of the
understanding you claim.

You should also choose your words carefully because that declaration
above speaks volumes about you. Its definitive proclamation states your
employment history does not extend beyond the "over a dozen years"
you've been "dealing with managers." I would hazard that it *is* your
employment history.

That you've been "dealing with managers" for those twelve plus years
indicates you have never found yourself in a management position. And,
judging from your underdeveloped communication skills, it is my guess
that you were never considered "management material," and were possibly
passed over without your ever knowing it. Working twelve years without
consideration for management is averring you haven't any leadership
abilities to speak of.

So in that careless statement you make it known you have no ability to
lead and yet, in the same missive, assert yourself the leader of your
MercuryFS vociferously. An evident display of insecurity with the role
of leadership.

Whether others see it as clearly, they'll surely feel the contradiction.
How do you expect others to follow when your own position is contrary?

I'd suggest you try to gather your thoughts into coherence instead of
shooting from the hip when you write. Much is forgiven by others when
you at least appear to be trying communicate intelligibly. Besides, you
might learn something of yourself in the process.
