I was wondering what peoples feelings were on FreeNet in light of the recent developments in the Echelon network(AU support, UN subversion, FR program joining network). With the Echelon network growing bigger,larger and stronger every day where does Freenet stand in relation. Does Freenet acquiesse to Echelon because FN is "freedom of speech" but Echelon is "security"? Is FN a direct response to Echelon? Or is FN just going to be a great tool for shadowboxers and blackhats(some of my known associates) to subvert the Echelon system?
