Stop right there. You're overlooking the extraordinary simplicity of the way to determine whether a key is, or is not, in your data store. Pull your network cable. Start Freenet. Request the key at HTL 0. If it's in your data store, you'll see it. If it's not, you'll get DNF or RNF.
