If I want to access a file and it doesn't work I'll try again. If that
doesn't work either I'll let it be and do something else. I don't
especially care why it doesn't work.
If I want to access freenet more reliably I'd use FCP.
Perhaps an interface where you request the key and either get it or not
and the other interface where you have a "file" for the latest status
(and all the other things already mentioned). (I would probably use
the later myself.)
