I accept your point that routing load is more importaint that performance. I'm arguing that the argument that intentionally under utilizing certain certain nodes (for instance, not assigning a larger area of keyspace to more powerful nodes), isn't necessarily the best choice.
I conceed about Ubernodes, and will concentrate on arguing against a darknet-only model ;) That said, I'd be happy to give up on EVER running an ubernode, or ever suggesting one was done, if we could have a Opennet over Darknet, as I suggested in my last e-mail. Note, The opennnet over darknet sounds surprisingly similiar to what Oskar is arguing could work. "Nodes that aren't worried about whoom they talk to can use destination sampling (like old Freenet, but with forced specialization)." It's still .7 style links, it's just less discriminate ;) _______________________________________________ chat mailing list [email protected] Archived: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.general Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/chat Or mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
