Thank you for that information. Some googling turned up (just) one source for
this book:
http://www.apl-books.com/
It's only $3, so I'm going to buy two copies (one for me, one for the ACM).
Before I do that, though, is anyone familiar with the other literature
available? Which is worth buying? There is lots of material by names familiar
on this list: Iverson, McDonnell, Alvord, etc., in addition to proceedings
from early APL conferences. As I mentioned in a recent post, I enjoy old APL
material in general and Ken Iverson's prose in particular.
Also, it seems a tad wasteful to only order $6 of merchandise, as (A) the
shipping costs will probably dominate the purchace price, anyway, (B) since the
only form of payment acceptable to the vendor and available to me is a money
order, I'm going to have to go to the post office, which has a high overhead,
and (C) the vendor suggests I might get free stuff if I buy more than 2 items.
So, recommendations? Or does anyone else want an item from the catalog? If
so, I'm happy to combine your order with mine.
