[Jchat] error message verbosity

I recall that (I think) the Universitry of Waterloo [Ontario, CA] had 
different levels of reporting compilation errors to it's freshmen 
FORTRAN students. The level of detail was user selectable... WATFOR was 
a pioneering compiler that beat the pants off IBM's offerings.
