Thank you, thank you, thank you! That research report was never available from IBM's online research papers site (although all of Ken Iverson's other major APL papers at IBM were available there*), and yet it's cited in very many subsequent papers about APL and the development of APL and J. Trying to find it has been very frustrating for me until now. (I was at the point of asking the forum if anyone could loan me a copy.) Again, thank you very much for providing it! Harvey * I just discovered that IBM's research journals are no longer freely available online (as they used to be) but are available only at an institutional annual charge of $1,499, currently discounted to $995. (Of course, access to such databases, even at libraries, can be limited to students and faculty and may be unaccessible to "outsiders".) I'm also no longer able to find Ken's non-journal technical writings at the IBM Research site, but maybe I don't know where to look now.
