As the owner of http://www.lulu.com/content/3493342 (and several other
Lulu books) let me salute John for drawing attention to the fact that
we J+APL book authors are ripe for defining ourselves as a community.

But I have reservations. Lulu, though it's been my favourite, is only
one of several resources. I have no particular loyalty to it -- and
Lightning Source beckons. Lulu would be yet-another website to have to
watch. I look at the Lulu "community" (much fragmented) and I see
something very small: virtually the private blogs of one or two
individuals.

What does Lulu have to offer us (over J Chat ...or even Facebook) to
honour it with custody of our transactions?

This isn't a put-downer. It's a question I've been asking myself in
one form or another all last year.
