I recently got my hands on a Linux ARM POS device. It has a 7 by 16 character
LCD with a keypad (like a cellphone), credit card reader, smart-card reader,
thermal printer and a GPRS support (you can put up to 3 SIM Cards).

You just basically use the ArmToolchain library with a static SDK library to
compile your C program. The thing was, it's upload software only works on
Windows XP so to make things easier, I used the Win32 ArmToolchain, Notepad++
and compiled everything in dos using a batch file. :P

Well, I am writing about it since I actually believe that besides the device
specific requirements (there is an SDK so its accessible), it would be better
if I could develop the application in J rather than in C.

Of course there is currently no ARM Linux version of J wouldn't it be nice if
there were?

Still, at the end of the day, I'd rather have an iPhone J (would not happen
unless Apple changes the policy) though.
