I started learning J on an ancient Windows Mobile 2002 PDA/phone. Brilliant, just the thing to do when waiting around a bit. Sure beats Sudoku. (Too many other things to do when I'm at my desk, unfortunately.) '2002' only ran J501, but that was alright, especially since it included the 'Labs', which were left out of WM 2003, for some reason.
Anyway, after a short hiatus -not of my choice- I am back on J602 with an old Acer n30. Works a treat, but is the screen is a bit ropey and starting to go. Anyway, replaced it with a cute ipaq rx5720 (the GPS ones), I thought the 400MHz processor might be good (almost 2x the speed), it certainly does fly with some other software I use. Sadly, j602 doesn't seem to work here, complains about a missing file or some such, so for now I'm stuck with the older one. Well, not exactly stuck, it more than covers my needs, but it would be good to see it on something a little more modern. Anyone have any ideas, or actually using 602 on WM5? Android, incidentally, is just crying out for it, n'est ce pas? J701 is good over the net, but here in the UK I don't feel comfortable being online all the time for something that could be done perfectly well locally. Maybe it's a bit different Stateside... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
