Definitely on BeeBeeCee Radio (or TV?) this morning - I'll let you know if the Times covers it when I get it tomorrow! I was doling out breakfast to grandchildren at the time, so didn't take in the details - I think someone might have mentioned a million neurons, which would suggest parallel proc; presumably bees are pretty highly programmed (by evolution) for good heuristics.
