Cathrine Lathwell pointed at

read, in my opinion.

And, when reading it, I realized just how little J has to offer, in
terms of courseware.

We have the notation, but most of our efforts have been aimed at
solving problems rather than expressing concepts.  (This is not
entirely true, but the exceptions are too few in number for J to be
particularly useful for teaching college students about computers.)
