I use gmail and they have very effective filters. Because of this message I did look in the garbage that is filtered out and there were 475 messages there and the usual contents by the look of the subject lines.
I hardly ever see any garbage in the inbox any more. I have not looked at the amount nor in the bin for some years now as far as I can remember. Last I looked some years ago I seem to recall there being a few thousand messages there and they were automatically cleared after 30 days. By this simple measure the spam to me seems to have decreased since some years ago. I really do not care if the messages are on top, bottom or interlaced but many tools more or less force you into on or the other.
